Apr 27, 2008 · I have a 2001 Roadstar 1600 and Yamaha recently did the 4th gear tranny recall. When I got it back I discovered a vibration that is driving me crazy. I narrowed the problem down to the engine because it goes away when I turned the engine off at 80 mph and coasted. That eliminated the new tires being our of balance.

One sign of its Asian roots is the 97.76-cubic-inch displacement, which stops just 37cc shy of 100 cubic inches. An extra 2mm added to the 95mm bore would have given Yamaha’s copywriters one more thing to brag about, but the displacement target was seen in metric terms rather than American.

Dec 29, 2014 · A friend of mine has a "06 Yamaha Road Star Silverado with a stage one kit. It was 59 HP stock. 59 might be pushing it for an 1100 Yammy. They work to squeeze power out of their in-line 4s. Asian bike makers just looking for cheap cruiser geeks on the HD clones. The 06 Roadstar is a 1700. Stock is 64 HP 96 Torgue, stage one should be.
